dominican republic Liga Nacional Baloncesto

Living in the Dominican Republic is night and day to living in America.

The beaches are beautiful, and the resorts are everything you need to feel at home.

The culture is rich with music from Salsa to Bachata, Merengue, and Dembow.

The women are beautiful, both the natural ones and the ones with plastic. They have plenty of those, too.

Most speak Spanish. Only a few are fluent.

Everywhere you turn, you will find beauty in this place.

Zona Colonia was Christopher Colombus's first stop. It's still there, as it was thousands of years ago.

The Rum company Brugal is the king of the DR.

A smooth Leyenda is a special bottle that I indulged in with local teammates.

The sports atmosphere is the closest thing to playing in the neighborhood as a kid. The local fans are rowdy, and they let you know it.

The basketball is fast-paced and not very structured.

The more Americans you have, the better your chances; this isn’t an X’s and O’s league.

They have their local All-Stars playing and rising youth as well.

Baseball is king and a necessity for kids from the DR.

Albert Pujols, Robinson Cano, Adrian Beltre, Miguel Tejada, Vladimir Guerrero, Sammy Sosa, Manny Ramirez and David Ortiz.

Numerous American baseball franchises, including the Texas Rangers and Boston Red Sox, have training facilities in the country.

I Loved the streets the most, the people selling fruits with stand-on wheels.

The coconut, the avocado, and the Banana are all so fresh.

Pica Pollo is a traditional mom-and-pop fast food fried chicken spot that is typically always available.

I picked up a bit of the language, which I enjoy learning, listening to, and speaking.
